Alternative trio NOISY have joined forces with London rap powerhouse Frozemode on brand new single ‘THE MOTIVE’ – watch HERE.
An explosive melting pot of gritty breakbeats, woozy trance synths and frenzied attack flow, ‘THE MOTIVE’ blends NOISY’s signature party sound with Frozemode’s raw versatility to bring something special for this summer.
The collaboration was born totally organically, with NOISY using a method that’s become commonplace and synonymous with the band – messaging artists they like on social media purely to show love. Destined to come together, and with a mutual desire to create something special, the Instagram conversation soon graduated to the studio where the magic really happened, and the result was THE MOTIVE.
On the new track, NOISY commented: “We had this beat knocking around for a while with the “capture the motive” hook and always knew it had to have its moment at some point. As soon as the Frozemode boys heard it they were buzzing and started writing their verses. The energy in the room for that session was crazy, all six of us were just bouncing off the walls with excitement listening to what we were creating.”
“We were both playing (The Great Escape) so we said we’ve gotta perform it together. They came on during our set and we went on during theirs and playing it live got us gassed for releasing it.”
Frozemode also commented on ‘THE MOTIVE’: “This track “captures” the essence of turning up to a motive and feeling like no one can touch you. It’s a sick cypher-like track where we all spit some cool bars on the verses and go crazy on the hook. We made this track the first time we linked up with the NOISY boys and something just clicked straight away. We went through a couple of ideas and this one grabbed our attention as soon as we heard it.”
‘THE MOTIVE’ comes as the trio recently performed with Frozemode on their own dedicated stage at The Great Escape, where they brought their celebrated club night to the festival and follows the recently released ‘DESIRE’ and fan-favourite ‘RUDEBOY’ which was hailed as the BBC Introducing ‘Track Of The Week’. Marking the mixtape’s release, NOISY plan to bring their ‘Fast Fwd: To Friday’ club night to London for a night to remember.
Doing what they do best, NOISY have had an explosive start to 2023. Back on home soil after a monumental SXSW in Austin and off the back of performing at London’s Lafayette for BRITs Week, they reintroduced their celebrated Brighton club night ‘Fast FWD To Friday’. A fusion of DJ sets and live performance, the club night promised an exhilarating, energy-filled night out whilst emerging talent within the scene.
Festivals are where the music comes to life, and this summer offers a run of unmissable shows, including NASS Festival, Barn On The Farm, 2000 Trees and a returning slot on the BBC Radio 1 Dance Stage at the prestigious Reading & Leeds.
It’s been all gas no breaks for as long as NOISY can remember. The past year alone, they’ve had D&B legend High Contrast remix their single ‘24/7’, opened for Mike Skinner, enjoyed a UK headline tour which came to London for a sold-out XOYO show and collaborated with the likes of The Prototypes, 1991 and Zero.
This self-sufficient, DIY mindset is one of the driving forces of NOISY (comprised of singer Cody, guitarist Connor and producer Spencer), who pride themselves on owning creative control, writing, recording and producing all of their music, designing their own merch and often shooting their own music videos.
If NOISY’s ambitions are no-holds barred, then they perfectly match-up to the euphoric maximalist blend of dance, drum’n’bass, jungle and electro sounds they’ve celebrated for creating.
2023 continues to shape up to be a standout year for NOISY – your new favourite band that sound nothing like a band.
