Nice Swan Records’ splint release ‘Continuing Endless’

Manchester-by-Calderdale influential expansivists, splint, hit the road, including Great Escape appearance, and release fourth Nice Swan Records single:

Continuing Endless

splint – Continuing Endless

Nothing is fixed and there’s no rush. Influential and hidden-away cult concern, splint, return to the front line this month with the release of their fourth track on Nice Swan Records, the hypnotic, expansive and intense, Continuing Endless. Transmitting on static frequencies across both their West Yorkshire and Manchester home territories, the metamorphic five-piece continue a run of shows this week, including an outing at The Great Escape this Saturday 18 May (Revenge, 18;30).
Disruptive, unrelenting and persuasive, splint’s unorthodox, slow rise continues to affect informed wonder, consistently leaving a wake of unknowns that light a flame towards which music-loving moths and kindred spirits are powerless to resist flickering around. The Jesus and Mary Chain/My Bloody Valentine-hued, languid charge of Continuing Endless draws a direct line to their last single, April 2023’s smoggy and guttural Awaiting Hills, while advancing away from the off-map, angular sounds of 2022 singles, Military Procedures and 145.

Recorded at Nave Studios in Leeds with engineer Alex Greaves at the reins, Continuing Endless features Jake Bogacki (vocals/guitar) Mike Hughes (guitar) Shaun Rigby (guitar) Ella Brown (bass) and Xuandi Zhang (drums).

splint’s gravitational pull amongst listeners and musicians has lit corners of comradeship where the north’s dark autumns have sought to crush the hardiest of souls. Linking arms with fellow explorers in sound and mood, Martial Arts, for four out of five current tour dates, all remaining splint shows in the coming weeks are as follows:

Fri 17 May – Leeds, Brudenell
Sat 18 May – Brighton, Great Escape Festival @ Revenge w/Nice Swan
Fri 24 May – Halifax, Grayston Unity
Sat 25 May – Manchester, Akoustik Anarkhy at The White Hotel
Sat 15 June – Sheffield, Hallamshire Hotel
