As they prepare to release their anticipated new album Dead Club City next week, platinum-selling English alt rock band Nothing But Thieves has issued one final tease with the release of their new single “Keeping You Around.” The spacey trip-hop ballad first premiered on Alt Nation’s Advanced Placement earlier this week. PRESS HERE to listen and PRESS HERE to watch the official lyric video. Dead Club City, due out Friday, June 30th via RCA/Sony Music with U.S. distribution by AWAL, features the band’s current radio single Overcome and hit single Welcome To The DCC. “Overcome” has amassed over 8 million global streams since its release last month and is making waves at U.S. Alternative Radio, including LA’s famed KROQ, as well as SiriusXM Alt Nation, where it’s currently top 10 on the Alt-18 weekly countdown. The epic pop track has also been featured on Elton John’s Rocket Hour Radio Show on Apple Music, BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record in the World, 20 Spotify New Music Friday playlists, and Spotify’s All New Rock, The Rock List, and Rock The World playlists where Nothing But Thieves appeared on the cover of all, in addition to various other DSP playlists. “Welcome To The DCC, the band’s highest charting track ever, has now accumulated more than 17 million global streamsDead Club City is available to pre-order and pre-save now – PRESS HERE. Digital pre-saves include instant downloads of “Keeping You Around,” “Overcome” and “Welcome To The DCC.”

“‘Keeping You Around’ is the first turning point people will hear about Dead Club City,” shares the band. “Up until now, it’s been the perfect life and a change to follow. Not for everyone. Within the concept, the song follows the same characters as ‘Overcome’ and what happens once they reach the city. In general, it’s about an outside force pulling at you, or pulling you apart. Newer isn’t always better and old doesn’t mean dead. ‘Tell me how a modern human should be. It’s so easy. You’re so pretty when you lie to me.’”

With socially insightful lyrics and an adept ability to progress their sound and experiment between the diverse genres that shape them as a band, Nothing But Thieves are making a statement return, marking an innovative new chapter with Dead Club City, the band’s fourth studio album. Throughout the 11-track collection, Nothing But Thieves showcase their city-sized, members-only club, Dead Club City. The album’s track list and overall narrative is formed by different characters and story arcs from in and around the city. Using the club as a focal point, it is easy to imagine the real-world meaning behind Dead Club City. Themes such as advertisement, unity, internet culture, the music industry, ageing and politics, as well as escapism and change are highlighted by the alienation or privilege of a members only club. Recorded and self-produced by NBT guitarist Dominic Craik along with Jonathan Gilmore, the songs on Dead Club City are vividly alive with big ideas, pop hooks, soul flourishes, hip hop beats, crunchy riffs, and lead vocalist Conor Mason’s remarkable and slinky falsetto.

Over the past decade, Southend, UK quintet Nothing But Thieves – Conor Mason (vocals, guitar), Joe Langridge-Brown (guitars), Dominic Craik (guitars, keyboard), Philip Blake (bass), and James Price (drums) – has built a loyal and wide following for their impactful alt rock sound, amassing over 1.2 million worldwide album sales2 billion worldwide streams, and 300 million video views in addition to multiple gold and platinum records around the world. The band first debuted in 2015 with their self-titled album Nothing But Thieves, featuring their #1 US Alternative radio single “Trip Switch, followed by their 2017 acclaimed album, Broken Machine, which charted at #2 on the UK album chart and was hailed “one of the best rock albums of the year” by The Independent. They’ve since released the EP, What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way (2018), and their massively successful third album, Moral Panic (2020), which charted at #3, accrued over 320 million streams, and earned the band the Best Indie Act at Global Radio’s 2021 Awards. Nothing But Thieves released Moral Panic II in 2021 with both projects forming Moral Panic (The Complete Edition) and toured the new music throughout 2021 and 2022 with headline shows and festival dates in both the UK and Europe, including their biggest ever London headline show at O2 Arena and a 17,000-headlining show at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, alongside a live support slot with The Rolling Stones in Lyon. Stateside, Nothing But Thieves has performed at such marquee festivals as Coachella, Lollapalooza, and BottleRock and appeared on top late night TV programs including Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Late Show with James Corden, and Conan.
