SMALL RUN OF INTIMATE SHOWS AHEAD OF HEADLINE TOUR IN MARCH 2022
SOPHOMORE ALBUM ‘HOP UP’
OUT JANUARY 14TH 2022
NEW SINGLE ‘LOOK WHO’S TALKING NOW’ OUT NOW
Orlando Weeks has today announced a series of intimate underplay dates this November ahead of his forthcoming headline tour in March 2022, which includes a show at London’s iconic Barbican Centre.
The dates come in the wake of the recent release announcement of Orlando’s highly anticipated sophomore solo album; ‘Hop Up’ out January 14th 2022.
These run of dates in uniquely modest venues represents Orlando’s first live performances since the release of his critically acclaimed debut solo album ‘A Quickening’.
Comprising a stripped back set-up of Orlando and his long-time live collaborator Sami El-Enany on keys, these dates are a first opportunity for fans to hear new material from the forthcoming album; which so far has included the tracks ‘Big Skies Silly Faces’ with Katy J Pearson, ‘Deep Down Way Out’ featuring an iconic video with comedian/actor Lolly Adefope and current single ‘Look Who’s Talking Now’.
The full list of November shows are –
14th – Tunbridge Wells, The Forum
18th – Ramsgate, Music Hall
20th – Southampton, Heartbreakers
21st – London, The Social
25th – Margate, Tom Thumb Theatre
26th – Bedford, Esquires
27th – Bath, Moles
Tickets go on general sale here on Friday 15th October at 10am, but previous bookers of tickets for his forthcoming Barbican date can gain pre-sale access on Wednesday 13th October at 10am. More info here
Arriving in the wake of his critically acclaimed debut solo album ‘A Quickening’, Week’s forthcoming record ‘Hop Up’ once again leans into themes of new life & parenthood, but whereas his previous work catalogued the emotions, expectations and anxieties that accompany imminent parenthood, Hop Up is an altogether more joyous and life affirming statement.
Featuring inspiring contributions from Katy J Pearson, Willie J Healey and Ben Reed (best known as part of Frank Ocean’s live band, he also played bass on the seminal ‘Blonde’ album ), the Bullion produced record will be released on CD, digital formats, and as a must have limited edition blue vinyl – available to pre-order & pre-save here
Weeks notes “It started with the idea of wanting to fill in some of the blanks that I felt I had left with ‘A Quickening’, but quite quickly it turned into something broader. The choice was always to take the more positive and uplifting sounding step. Perhaps it shouldn’t have, but as an approach it felt surprisingly novel to me.”
