OSAKA PUNCH
Wrap Up National Album Tour, Sell Out of All Merch & Stock
Unveil Plans for 2024
Brisbane’s most beloved Prog act Osaka Punch have put a lid on 2023 in epic style.
The band recently played their last show of the year which saw them rack up an insane
20 000 kilometres on the road!
Armed with their new album, Mixed Ape, the guys brought their distinctive fusion of catchy pop, jazz chops and dank grooves to all corners of the country, playing in 6 capital cities and multiple regional towns, selling out ALL Vinyl and CD copies of Mixed Ape along the way!
The band comment on the year “‘2023 was a monster. It started with The Crimpology Tour and a promise that the album we had been writing for many generations was coming this year. Reggie got his stolen bass back after it had been living rough on the streets of Fremantle for 5 years. In September we found our big boy pants and released Mixed Ape, which to everyone’s surprise debuted at #2 on the AIR Album Chart.
We put 20,000kms on the old Jambulance, on our biggest ever tour and quickly sold out of Mixed Ape vinyl and CDs. Jack entered himself into The Most Handsome Gent Awards, but he was beaten in the qualifying rounds by a puddle of his own piss.
Thanks to everyone who came to a show, bought a vinyl, streamed the album and didn’t break into our tour van and steal all of our shit. We’re heading back into the studio to start working on the next release, which won’t take as long this time.”
Mixed Ape featured the incredible singles Simulate & Kamikaze, the music video for which pitted band mate against band mate in a hilarious boxing match for the ages!

After some much needed rest and recuperation, Osaka Punch will turn their attention to the studio.
Stay tuned!
