The “Joy Division : A Celebration” shows were originally planned to commemorate four decades of the bands and Ian Curtis’ influence in May 2020 and began some two years later to great reactions from fans and critics alike with some quotes from concert reviews here.
“It is probably the best performance and emotional reaction I’ve ever seen at a gig. It is an end to an astounding, astounding gig. A gig I won’t be forgetting for a long, long time. Wow. Simply, Wow.” All Music
With festival dates in the summer, October sees The Light’s biggest ever London live date at Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith Saturday 14th October 2023 performing both Joy Division’s & New Order’s “Substance” albums for their thirty-fifth anniversaries,
With The Light having toured both Substances live previously, this provides a very different show as the band concentrate on the tracks that defined both bands and a similar Manchester show at The Albert Hall in April 2023 has already fully sold out.
The widely celebrated show which sees many of Hooky’s bands’ classic tracks back-to-back was last aired by the band in 2019 and the London and Manchester returns are currently the only announced shows for the set.
This full concert audio from the O2 Apollo show has already been released on CD and for download by Live Here Now with the vinyl to be shipped in late March / early April. For details check here – https://bit.ly/TheLightReleasesLiveHereNow
