Porchlight share new single ‘Noel’
Out now via Fragile Hands
Porchlight return with new single ‘Noel’. It was recorded at east London’s Haha Sounds Studio late last year with producer Syd Kemp (The Horrors, Thurston Moore, HMLTD).
‘Noel’ is all sweat-laden riffs with a luxuriously expansive-breakdown. It is a thrilling re-introduction to Porchlight, who are set to deliver on their early promise when early singles Drywall, Country Manor and Silver Spoon were supported by So Young, BBC Introducing, Fred Perry Subculture, Rodeo and more. This marked them out as a band to watch and they recently appeared at prestigious music festivals Transmusicales and Musical Chorus in France.
The band explain the track –
“A janky depiction of imitation and uncertainty leaking in to the safety of a home. We created the music video based on a painting by our friends Beth Vincent & George Smith that brings the claustrophobic tone of the song to life. The outro evolved massively when we recorded it in the studio and since then it’s been one of our favourites to play live.”
The stunning video has been put together by James Ogram (Deathcrash, Honeyglaze, Jessica Winter) with additional work from Anouska Sokolow of Honeyglaze. Watch it here.
The band have the following dates lined up. Look out for more news on dates coming soon.
