Autumn headline tour announced

Porchlight have shared their new single ‘Shhrrp’ via Fragile Hands. It’s the follow up to the brilliant ‘Noel’, released last month. The track was recorded at was recorded at east London’s Haha Sounds Studio late last year with producer Syd Kemp (The Horrors, Thurston Moore, HMLTD).

‘Shhrrp’ sees this Brighton-based band push the sonic boundaries even further. From their beginnings as a post-punk band, with ‘Shhrrp’ shows a more expansive sound, with a greater sense and time and space. The melodic side of the band is emerging as they really begin to hit their stride with the forthcoming EP ‘Wives Tales & Hymns of the Earth’, due for release later this year. The EP is available for pre-order here

The band talk about ‘Shhrrp’ –

“A wallowing stroll holding the hand of self-pity in a quest to see any sort of progress from yesterdays bleak routine. The closing track from our EP and the most delicate in our discography”

‘Noel’ was released last month and has picked up multiple plays on BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing. The band will be appearing at Visions Festival in London in July, having previously played The Great Escape as well as Transmusicales and Musical Chorus in France. And they’ve picked up early support from So Young, Clout, Fred Perry Subculture, Rodeo and more.

About Porchlight:

Formed of lead vocalist Sam Crees, bassist Oli Port, guitarists Hodges and Coram, and Harry Geal on drums, Porchlight are a charismatic hybrid who, off of the back of a handful of singles and rabid word-of-mouth, are fast becoming one of the most beguiling acts to watch.

Tried and tested through a myriad of notorious live-shows, which saw the group establish an ever-growing fanbase throughout the UK and EU, the five tracks that would eventually go on to form ‘Wives Tales & Hymns of the Earth’, Porchlight’s forthcoming debut EP, are a symbolic mis-mash of heart-on-sleeve musicianship and delightfully raucous lyricism.
