PUNKBAND ANNOUNCE DEBUT HEADLINE LONDON SHOW

Debut Headline Show at The Social, London – August 18th.  Tickets available here at 10am on Friday 28th May

Fresh from announcing their debut headline show at The Social on August 18th, London two-piece Punkband are back with their raucous new track – ‘Red Rag to a Bull’.

Red Rag to a Bull was produced by the band’s guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Alex Cook and takes aim squarely at the humdrum of the 9-5 with frontman Toby Ergatoudis stating “This is the internalised anger created by leading the monotonous life most people choose to live.  No one takes the leap of faith to do something different n step out their comfort zone”.   The single – which builds on the success of early releases Kick It Up, Businessman and abcabcabcabcabc – channels young Britain’s disinterest and disgustmirroring 80’s Thatcher’s Britain post-punk for our era and our time.

Punkband were born out of sheer “boredom with the state of music at the moment”.   Ergatoudis initially managed Cook,  but admits he was “the worst manager in the world”.  One day, inspired by the Sex Pistols after watching the documentary The Filth And The Fury, they thought “Why don’t we do something like this?’” They acted on instinct, made some noise, and that’s basically what they do.

Of their upcoming headline show at The Social on August 18th, Ergatoudis says “ we want the live show to be the most mental thing you’ve ever seen, just unrelenting explosive chaos. Taking it back to the glory days of punk rock, and giving the youth of today a taste of it”.
