Zuzu is a 23-year-old, sci-fi loving singer songwriter from Liverpool and she had just released her debut album “Queensway Tunnel”.

Over the last couple of years Zuzu has been very busy building her reputation as someone who is one to watch, steadily working towards this debut release. She has already released two highly acclaimed Eps, Made on Earth by Humans and How It Feels, plus a handful of singles.

On “Queensway Tunnel” Zuzu delivers a blend of Liverpool guitar pop, mixed with the pop sensibilities of Taylor Swift and delivered with a soft scouse twang. There is an honesty and girl-next-door feel to Zuzu as she regales us with songs of love lost, love gained and lessons learnt, all with a sci fi twist. The lyrics are witty, clever, and cutting in a way that shows her roots as a true Liverpudlian girl.

This record glimmers with personality, big catchy choruses and subtlety that make it seem that you hear more on each listen.

This record feels very personal, whilst be totally relatable for the listener. It feels like a record that has been written over years, with all those experiences, good and bad, laid bare. It’s sonic in parts, gentle and sad in others, whilst still being uplifting. In essence, this is a very good record and will only reinforce what everyone who has heard her music is thinking -and that is that Zuzu is destined for very big things.
