FIRE OUT A STATEMENT OF INTENT WITH THE NEW SINGLE
‘WE OWE YOU NOTHING’ – LISTEN HERE

THEIR FIRST RELEASE UNDER A NEW DEAL WITH RUN ON RECORDS
STAY TUNED FOR MORE NEW MUSIC COMING SOON

They’ve topped the iTunes charts with the ‘Nothing Less Than Everything’ EP, swaggered into arenas with Kasabian (personally chosen by Serge Pizzorno), and spent recent months blowing away festival crowds at the Isle of WightRewired and Stag and Dagger, but ROLLA today step up to fulfil their limitless potential with the new single ‘We Owe You Nothing’. It’s their first release under a new deal with Run On Records, who are currently elevating The Royston Club to bigger things.

When you title a song ‘We Owe You Nothing’ you have to play like your lives depend upon it, and that’s exactly what ROLLA have delivered. It’s what fans have come to love the band for, but amped up to maximalist intensity: beats pulverise with bigger beats and deeper grooves, their riffs thump heavier and catchier than ever before, and James Gilmore’s vocals soar and snarl like a rock ‘n’ roll star in the making. ROLLA may well owe you nothing, but they have delivered something well worth paying attention to.

James says, “It’s a statement, fuck you, fuck them, it’s us or nothing. We like to think it can have many avenues of direction to wherever or whoever you want to stick your two fingers up at. It’s just pure rock ‘n’ roll right down to its bare bones. I had the riff and the chorus hook laying around for a while and one day we all went back to it and it just all fell into place in our rehearsal room. It’s easily one of the songs I’m most proud of writing and it’s already a crowd pleaser live!”

The track was written by the band, with lyrics by James Gilmore, and it was produced and mixed by Gareth Nuttall (The K’sLottery Winners), with additional production and mixing from guitarist Luke McConnell. Expect more new music to emerge from the ROLLA camp soon.

Completed by Tom Paddon (guitar), Luke Gilmore (bass) and Saul Bardsley (drums), the next opportunity to see ROLLA in action will be a homecoming show at Manchester’s Neighbourhood Festival on October 5th, followed by special guests gigs with The Lilacs at Stockton KU (October 25th) and The Soundhouse in Leicester (October 26th).
