Roosevelt Is Lovestruck On Joyous New Single “Forevermore”
New Album ‘Embrace’ Out Sept 22nd – More Info HERE
US Tour Kicks Off September 21st – Tickets HERE
Today, acclaimed multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Roosevelt (the stage name of Marius Lauber) has released “Forevermore”, a shimmering indie-pop love song that serves as the final preview of his forthcoming LP ‘Embrace’ (out Sept 22nd via Ninja Tune/Counter Records).
Following his recent funk-influenced singles “Ordinary Love”, “Luna”, “Paralyzed”, and the electronic-leaning “Rising”, “Forevermore” is an uptempo nugget of indie-pop that serves as the perfect showcase of Roosevelt’s instrumental capabilities and ear for melody. Over three minutes, Lauber expertly weaves layers of synthesisers with guitar and drums for a sound that combines the euphoric release of electronica with the down-and-dirty grooves of classic funk and disco. The track spotlights Roosevelt’s fascination with the history of dance music – it’s the perfect synthesis of old and new, and will provide a major concert highlight on Roosevelt’s headlining UK tour this autumn.
Speaking about the track, Roosevelt noted: “I’ve heard this guitar lick in my head for weeks – almost like having an earworm of something that I’ve not recorded yet. Producing this, I’ve thought a lot about bands like Whitest Boy Alive, whose magic to me is to strip down a song as much as possible – so it ended up quite a reduced, fun arrangement that hopefully brings joy and effortlessness to this record. Kat Frankie, who also sang backing vocals on many tracks on my last album, recorded some great harmonies for this track, adding a lot to the vocal delivery.”
Out on September 22nd, ‘Embrace’ is Roosevelt’s most fully-realised project to date, and features deeply personal lyrics and emotive instrumentals that are effortlessly intertwined with addictive disco basslines ideal for a summertime dance party. Inspired by the realisation that he no longer could relate to the static lifestyles of his childhood friends, ‘Embrace’ sounds equally intimate and expansive, and reaffirms Roosevelt’s status as one of the world’s most inventive young songwriters.
Beginning on 1st December, Roosevelt will be heading out on the European leg of his tour. Pulling from his diverse catalog and inspired by his own experiences DJing, the Roosevelt live show will feature fluid transitions between songs and a three-piece backing band. Full dates below.

Roosevelt’s busy 2023 follows past high-profile collaborations with Nile Rodgers, Classixx and Washed Out, and major remixes for the likes of Taylor Swift, CHVRCHES, Glass Animals, and Charlotte Gainsbourg. His last full-length album ‘Polydans’ earned widespread acclaim from press, with Billboard saying it “balances 80s-inspired synth, disco, driving beats and cinematic textures into a musical amalgamation that simultaneously manages effervescence and heft,” with Pitchfork adding “ Lauber’s music evokes an earnest sweetness, forming crisp melodies around his smooth vocals.”
