‘If You Have The Chance Get Down To See These Guys Perform, You Will Not Be Disappointed’

Sam Fender Unleashes his “Seventeen and going under” tour of a rather boisterous M&S Arena in Liverpool.

Support for the evening is from Goat Girl, emerging from the post Punk music scene in London the group deliver a faultless set, a blend of gorgeous harmonies blended with bittersweet lyrics, along with straightforward poignant statements that push the band to the fore, as a band on the rise. As they left the stage it was clear the crowd were well and truly ready for tonight’s host.

As the lights drop in the Arena and the crowd raises its voice to welcome tonight’s host. Fender and band immediately hit the pedal and “We will talk”, has the arena bouncing. One of the things that Fender brings to the stage is a real presence, an assured stature found in a performer that is fully enjoying the ride.

Entertaining a phenomenal crowd who are worshiping at the feet of an artist on the march, its one thing selling out an 11,000-capacity arena, it’s another coming out and performing to a full house, what you have in Fender and his band, is a group who can deliver and entertain to the highest level.

One of the joys of attending a Sam Fender gig, is he is never shy of speaking his mind and saying things as he sees it, “Fuck the Tories” was a regular rant he shared with the euphoric crowd. And his rather funny observation of “You can’t fart without people knowing about it these days”, it is a strength Fender possesses is how he can relate to the crowd. I would even say that he has the same presence and poise of the legendary Bruce Springsteen.

It’s a real honour and a privilege to be witnessing a show that combines the old with the new, a fantastic stage and backdrops, perfectly performed and delivered to a crowd who have come out to let their hair down. As the band fired up the last song of the evening “Hypersonic missile”, its clear that Sam Fender and his band are heading for bigger and better things, if you have the chance get down to see these guys perform, you will not be disappointed and you will be totally entertained.

The future is looking bright and the support is going to grow, a true showman who delivers on every level.
