RETURN WITH BRAWLING NEW KNOCKOUT SINGLE ‘DEATH OF ME’
SEE THE SOUTH COAST TRIO LIVE ACROSS THE UK THIS AUTUMN
Seismic psych-punk trio Mystic Peach have unveiled more new music with brawling new single ‘Death Of Me’
Rooted in themes of political and societal angst, the track is a snarling snap at the state of the world in 2022 that stays true to the band’s plethora of sounds and styles across their heavy discography, with snaking guitars and ominous percussion to boot.
Elaborating on ‘Death Of Me’, vocalist and guitarist Curtis Gale explains, “Trying to extract my feelings and emotions around ‘Death Of Me’ is hard. There’s been propaganda we’ve had to endure, especially over the last 3 years, that had a massive impact on this – but politics is not the protagonist, it’s the narrator.
Trying to figure out what’s reality or my imagination and the realisation that I’ve lost touch with people – my empathy, sympathy, love and happiness towards them has nearly diminished. The followers call out the oppressed for being manipulated and selfish. I stood with them, under cover, trapped playing devil’s advocate and it made me want to kill myself.
Upon reflection, political, religious and societal differences will never be the problem, it’s the people who are conditioned to it. They’ll more likely get to me before cigarettes do,” he continues.
The trio will be playing shows across the UK and Europe this autumn with a string of tour dates. Stopping in Paris, Germany, Rotterdam and Nottingham, there is also a highly anticipated hometown show at The Joiners in Southampton and a stop in the capital at The Grace in London on the agenda too. Well-versed at gigs, Mystic Peach have cut their teeth supporting the likes of The Black Lips, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Snapped Ankles, Pigsx7, Temples and Crows, honing a seismic live show that has to be seen to be believed.
Today’s new material follows on from last year’s critically acclaimed debut EP ‘M?’, which continued to build on their already established cult following by securing support from Fred Perry Subculture, The Line Of Best Fit, So Young, the Daily Star‘s Rising Stars feature, Louder Than War and Backseat Mafia as well as garnering praise from Jack Saunders and Huw Stephens
