Sterling Press share new single ‘Crowdpleaser’ via Fear Records
More live dates announced including LIve At Leeds
Sterling Press have shared their new single ‘Crowdpleaser’ via Fear Records. It follows recent single ‘What Would You Do?’.
‘Crowdpleaser’ is another slice of perfect, indie pop. Soaring synth lines and snarling vocals are wedded to pop hooks and a rich melodic instinct. Blending influences including from early Blur, it’s refreshing musically and in outlook. As the band explain:
“It’s a bit of an amalgamation of different experiences we’ve all had, being in those rooms where you don’t really feel like you’re having fun, but all your mates convinced you to come down. It’s realising, actually I don’t want to be here, I don’t need to be here, I’m off’
As with ‘What Would You Do?’ the track has been produced by Jolyon Thomas (Slaves, Kendrick Lamar, Royal Blood) and together they’ve recorded an EP that will be rolled out over the coming months.
Sterling Press are going from strength to strength. Having previously supported The Goa Express, Spyres and The Native, Sterling Press saw ‘What Would You Do?’ hit the Spotify Hot New Bands playlist and the cover of Tidal’s Indie Britain. The band were added to the Radio X X-Posure radio playlist, as well as support coming from BBC Introducing. They played a sold-out show at Liverpool O2 Academy earlier this year. Previously the band have been supported across BBC 6 Music and Radio 1.
Next the band continue to build up to the release of their ‘Baby Steps’ EP next year. They have further shows throughout October, including Live At Leeds. All dates are below.
