Sweets to release ‘Tension Free’ EP on 8th September
Soul Kitchen Recordings
Manchester live show on 14th October
Sweets is set to release his new EP ‘Tension Free’ on 8th September. The seven-track collection features previous singles ‘Crack Baby’, ‘Bitter’ and ‘Telephone’. It’s released via Soul Kitchen Recordings.
Sweets’ musical world has been growing as he adds punk and rock influences to his core love of hip-hop and grime. ‘Tension Free’ is at times angry, joyous, searching and reflective. Ultimately these are very soulful songs that highlight the issues of growing up in modern Britain, from social media and mental health issues, to break ups and betrayal. Deeply personal but with a wider resonance, they show a new artist better understanding his world and those around him. It’s a document of its time, written and produced in his hometown of Manchester.
Sweets will be back in Manchester playing live on 14th October at Beyond The Music Festival.
