THE MANATEES
ANNOUNCE APRIL 2024
‘DIFFERENT STATE OF MIND’ UK HEADLINE TOUR
SECOND EP ‘DIFFERENT STATE OF MIND’ OUT 23RD FEBRUARY 2024
British indie-rock three piece The Manatees announce a brand new UK headline tour for April 2024 in support of their upcoming EP Different State Of Mind, out 23rd February 2024 via Fierce Panda.
Offering 8 exhilarating shows across the UK, including iconic venues such as London’s Colours, Rough Trade in Bristol, The Lodge at The Deaf Institute in Manchester, The Green Door Store in Brighton, the tour gives fans a chance to witness the band’s rapturous energy on stage.
Tickets go on general sale on Friday 15th December at 10am from AEG.
Speaking about the tour, the band say: “The shows in April are all we can think about at the moment – we’re so excited! It’ll be our biggest headline tour of the UK to date and we can’t wait to connect with everyone listening to our music. It’ll be amazing to take the tracks from ‘Different State of Mind’ across the country for the first time. The songs are built to be heard at a show, in the room with us. We’re itching for people to experience that energy again in the spring. Every show we play is getting bigger and better, we’re glad people are on that journey with us”
Hailing from a sleepy town on the south coast of England and now residing in London, The Manatees consist of hyperactive school friends Jay, Tyler and Miller and a litany of unfeasibly large trousers. Their shiny-but-questioning alt.melodic quests touch on hip hop samples, funk-driven basslines and sparkling guitars and have drawn knowing comparisons with everyone from MGMT to Klaxons via Jungle, Wolf Alice and The Strokes.
This summer saw the band take to various festivals across the country, including performances at Y Not Festival, Isle Of Wight Festival and BBC Introducing x The Hundred, as well as their own 11 date headline tour which included sellout shows in Manchester, Bristol, Southampton and London’s The Lexington.
So rest assured there is depth to The Manatees’ pop delight – the debut ‘Dream In Colour’ EP came out in April and openly tackled the anxieties of finding your feet in an ever-changing world, emphasising the desperateness and loneliness of growing up. Yet even this couldn’t quell The Manatees’ hyper-popping genre-hopping essence rare, inspiring sold out shows at The Victoria and Sebright Arms and warranting a Jack Saunders Next Wave interview on Radio One as well as much love from Steve Lamacq at BBC 6 Music.
Catch The Manatees live when they embark on their UK 2024 tour next April.
