Shots fired! The Reytons are today releasing their highly anticipated, euphoric debut album ‘Kids Off The Estate
Spanning across fourteen tracks, the LP is a triumphant story of hard graft and overcoming working class struggles soundtracked to surging, meteoric guitar riffs, sucker punch percussion and ear worm lyrics.
Speaking about the record and its release, frontman Jonny Yerrell says, “This album marks the end of a journey but equally the beginning of another. For most people, Reytons started only 4 years ago and the rise has been quite quick, not many know about all the struggles, knock-backs and continuous graft that has gone into making us who we are today. We’re exceptionally proud to tell our stories and bring you exactly what we are… The Kids Off The Estate.”
Arriving via Manchester-based label Scruff Of The Neck, the South Yorkshire four-piece have been building up to this monumental milestone with the release of three electrically charged singles which have their roots firmly embedded into the fundamentals of great guitar music, with the rest of the record following suit.
The album’s timely release falls a day before their intimate album release show at Network in Sheffield tomorrow night (13th November), and after a month on the road, embarking on a mostly sold out headline UK tour. Dubbed as “a colossal live force” by Clash, the feverish demand for seeing the legendary Reytons live show was proved again as the 2,100 cap Academy 1 show in Sheffield sold out in under 6 days, with Leeds and Manchester quickly following behind.
It also comes after the band’s recent show stopping hometown appearance at Tramlines Festival in Sheffield, which saw undulated scenes of a huge crowd lapping up every second of their set, basking in the glory of live music once again.
So far this year they’ve already made waves with their latest EP ‘May Seriously Harm You and Others Around You‘, which saw them storming up to #27 in the Official UK Album Charts. The EP was the third highest New Entry, #2 in the Vinyl Chart and #2 in the Independent Chart.
The Reytons have quickly risen from hometown heroes in South Yorkshire to a nationally renowned indie-rock outfit with even bigger chart ambitions for the forthcoming debut album. A word of mouth sensation, the band have an almost football-like tribalism translating to their gig atmospheres in war chants and flares.
With a unique incorporation of social narrative in their music and music videos, featuring guest appearances from cult television shows such as Coronation Street, The Inbetweeners, Peep Show and Shameless, The Reytons are here to break the UK with an army by their side.
‘Kids Off The Estate’ is out now.
