WORDS AND IMAGES DAZZA HAGERTY
GOBLINS AND WIZARDS TOUR
After driving for over an hour, I arrived in Cambridge as I entered the car park, from a distance I saw the eagerly anticipated metal heads queuing, getting themselves pumped and ready for a brutal night of metal music hosted by metal band Trivium, I entered just in time getting myself in the pit with minutes to go, the lights shut off, it’s pitch black.
On step first support band Orbit culture, a Swedish deathcore band, formed in 2013 who have 4 studio albums to date, their latest album “Descent” released earlier this month.
Orbit Culture really did open up this night in full force, with their style of death/melodeath metal to groove metal and harmonic melodies mixed into their songs, which make them really stand out, they certainly had the crowd head banging so that’s always a great start to kick of a show.

Christopher Wallerstedt – Drums

The second support band on stage was Scottish metal band Bleed From Within, who formed in 2005, they have 6 studio albums the first “Uprising” coming in 2013 the same year they won metal hammer golden gods award for best new band and their latest album “shrine” in 2022 and their latest single “the will to resist” dropped earlier this month.
They have been compared to the likes of Lambs of god, Bring me the horizon so if you love them you’ll enjoy listening to Bleed From Within, although personally lead singer Scott Kennedy gave me Jacoby shaddix from Papa Roach vibes and we all know what a great frontman he is. Anyway, onto the performance and my word, the boys from Glasgow really know how to put on a show!!
Kennedy bought energy from the get go, stalking the stage like a lion and its prey.
Kennedy demanded more and more from the crowd, which the crowd happily obliged, with mosh pits getting bigger and bigger and the crowd getting crazier, to which point Kennedy decided to join them in the end.
Probably one of the best supporting bands I’ve seen to date, I’d suggest seeing them if you haven’t already, you will not be disappointed.
Members:
Scott Kennedy – Lead vocalist
Ali Richardson – Drummer

As one curtain drops, there’s joyous cheers from the crowd, the iconic dragon carpet backdrop appears, big dragons with beading red eyes appear on each side of the stage, a real artsy look to set the stage.
Trivium joined the stage, a well respected heavy metal band, basically being adopted by the UK fans. What I loved was the bond between the band and audience, the care for safety during hectic mosh pits, a set that lasted around 90 minutes, and had the whole room rocking. Ending it with Matt Heafy getting the whole crowd sitting on the floor and jumping up head banging, jumping everywhere. Which was an absolutely sensational touch to ending the night.
