Beloved, celebrated and rightfully acclaimed as one of the feel-good festival weekends of the year – Truck Festival is back for 2024. Bringing together an unforgettable bill across the indie, alternative and pop world for a festival bursting with character – Truck Festival stands as Your Favourite Artists’ Favourite Festival; a community celebration of a new rite of passage, and a shining gem of the Summer – with this year’s lineup ready and set to crown a true Summer highlight.
Fizzing with feverish energy, fun and games, Truck combines it all together for a weekend where it’s impossible to leave without a smile on your face. There really is entertainment and something for all ages to enjoy.
Bringing together the best in a modern scene of artists, 2024’s lineup boasts icons, huge headline favourites, thrilling new waves and laugh-out-loud silliness that can only be found at Truck. There’s a reason why it sits as more than just a festival weekend, but the holy ground for guitar-loving fans of all ages.
Leading the charge as one of four unmissable headliners at Truck 2024, is indie’s poet laureate Jamie T. An institution and trailblazing light ever since the release of his generation-defining debut album ‘Panic Prevention’, his whipping hooks have become a hallmark of huge stages and celebratory scenes – with his gritty take on city life becoming singalong anthems for fans across the globe. One of the most requested headliners in Truck Festival history, he finally makes his debut for a headlining set for the ages – with the likes of ‘Sticks N Stones’, ‘Sheila’, ‘Zombie’, ‘If You Got The Money’, ‘90s Cars’, ‘Operation’ and more ready to make history.
As an undeniable home for an entire culture of fans, no better festival may be suited for Wet Leg, as they take to the Truck Stage for their very first festival headline slot. Since bursting on the scene with debut single ‘Chaise Longue’, Wet Leg have become THE breakthrough band of the past 5 years. Whether it’s storming to the top of the album charts with their self-titled debut album, soundtracking an entire moment in time, touring the globe with Harry Styles or scooping Grammy nominations galore – Wet Leg have crossed over into a bonafide force. Toasting a stunning rise to the top, Wet Leg headline Truck Festival for a moment that’ll live long in the memory whilst pointing to their exciting next chapter.
Lock down your aerials because at Truck Festival 2024, you’ll be listening to the sounds of The Streets. One of the 21st century’s most influential and genre-leading artists, Mike Skinner over the past two decades has ripped apart the rulebook with call-to-arms hits that paint a picture of modern British life. Earning a reputation as one of the most ferocious and anarchic live acts going, hits such as ‘Fit But You Know It’, ‘Blinded By The Lights’, ‘Don’t Mug Yourself’, ‘Dry Your Eyes’, ‘Let’s Push Things Forward’ and more – all the way up to cuts from latest album ‘The Darker The Shadow, The Brighter The Light’ has cemented The Streets as one of the UK’s most celebrated artists. Closing out Truck Festival 2024 in style, it’s a guaranteed show-stopper when Mike Skinner and The Streets come to town.
Kicking off the weekend headlining Thursday night at Truck 2024, IDLES take their spot at the top of the bill for a visceral adrenaline shot that comes with being one of the best live bands on the planet right now. Led by the unmistakable presence of frontman Joe Talbot, Bristol’s favourite sons have taken the Globe by storm – with their searing take on modern guitar music becoming a trailblazer for an entire generation. Always looking forward (with new album ‘TANGK’ already pointing to their most ambitious record to date), their powerful and vulnerable anthems serve as the perfect release to kick off the Truck weekend.
Across four days and nights, Truck Festival comes alive with a lineup that puts the good times first. Indie icons The Kooks return to Hill Farm, with the sort of arsenal of undeniable summer bangers that feel ready-made for festival memories (‘Naive’, ‘She Moves In Her Own Way’, ‘Ooh La’, ‘Always Where I Need To Be’ to name but a few) whilst Truck royalty Declan McKenna returns for his grandest moment to date – celebrating the release of new album ‘What Happened To The Beach?’ as a modern-day genius takes the next step up for a set that’s sure to be a weekend highlight. Also celebrating their next exciting chapter is Yard Act, whose bold new chapter with second album ‘Where’s My Utopia?’ is bursting with unstoppable energy that sees them rightfully claim their spot as one of the most exciting bands of recent times, whilst Holly Humberstone brings her stunning catalogue of modern pop turns to the Truck stage – for what’s sure to be a true coming together in the heart of a festival where the here and now is born for its greatest memories.
Speaking about her debut at Truck Festival, Holly Humberstone said:
“The thought of doing UK festivals this summer is keeping me going through these winter months! Excited to play Truck Festival this year. Being able to play for all of you guys alongside some of my fave people will be a dream! See you there 🖤”
The roll call of modern guitar greats and the essential artists all fans need to see in 2024 keep coming. Firmly live festival favourites, Sea Girls touch down at Truck Festival hot off the heels of new album ‘Midnight Butterflies’ with a soaring indie masterclass whilst the scorching Black Honey lay claim to Truck Festival with their cinematic-rock punch destined to once again leave a mark on the Truck faithful. A vital band whose unabashed creativity continues to shine bright, Peace return in emphatic fashion – with a powerhouse rock and roll show where cuts like ‘Wraith’, ‘Bloodshake’, ‘Lovesick’, ‘World Pleasure’ and turns from new album ‘Utopia’ usher in their thrilling next move. Glasgow’s own The Snuts are bound to prove just why as a live act they sit as such an in-demand force whilst the punk sounds of Soft Play welcome back Isaac + Laurie with a world of unstoppable hits that are primed to have Truck moving in unbridled unison. Tipped for massive things in 2024, English Teacher are guaranteed to be a highlight by the time Truck rolls into a view with the blistering sound already taking over TV screens and big stags alike alongside Lime Garden – bringing debut album ‘One More Thing’ to Hill Farm in style for a celebratory bottle-pop, whilst local gem Willie J Healy rich modern-soul take on indie is ready for its crowning homecoming as he heads to Hill Farm this July. Whether it’s the palpable live phenomenon that is Bob Vylan, the Truck Hall Of Fame return (and farewell!) from indie darlings The Magic Gang, the soaring indie licks of beloved breakthrough gems The Royston Club, the crunching dark hits of The Wytches or the late-night pop beats that come from Katy B – Truck continues to give and give for a festival stacked with highlights at every turn.
English Teacher said:
“We’re chuffed that Truck Festival asked us to come back to play this year and to be part of another cracking lineup. This time we’ll bring our wellies xox”
Oxfordshire’s own Willie J Healey, commented about his homecoming festival return:
“I tell ya what folks…Truck, it’s gonna be magic. We’re very happy to be heading back to our hometown festival this summer, see you there”
Lime Garden said:
“Truck was an absolute highlight the last time we played. We cannot wait to return and we’re very excited to play the main stage this time”.
With its finger firmly on the pulse of the exciting next wave of artists ready to seize the stage in 2024, Truck once again is primed with rising favourites. Newdad head to Truck already brimming with gazing potential that’s already set them apart as essential ones to watch, while Nieve Ella continues her ascent to the very top – with sold-out tour dates, ones to watch tips and a vast diehard community of fans forming around a future superstar. Already gracing TV screens with his feel-good alternative vibes, Antony Szmierek leads summer vibes into Truck this summer as does 86TVs – with their soaring harmonies launching a new stage for a band whose indie DNA runs deep while the eruptive brilliant of Fat Dog brings their scripture of dubb-electro-punk brilliance to Truck as a live revolution welcomes in a world of new disciples. With the likes of Folly Group, Divorce, Been Stellar, Mary In The Junkyard, Katie Gregson Macleod, Cucamaras, Nightbus, Ebbb and more confirmed – the spirit of Truck once again ensures that it’s the only place to be for fans looking to discover their next favourite band.
Speaking about their connection to Truck Festival, 86TVs said:
“While we were putting 86TVs together, we’ve been to Truck Festival over the last few years just to come and see bands. There always is at least ten acts you’re desperate to see in the same place over the course of a day. Exciting to be in the mix this year.”
After playing at Truck in 2023, hotly-tipped newcomer Antony Szmierek said about Truck 2024:
“Truck took us completely by surprise last year. We didn’t think anyone would show up for the set and we were met with one of the most up for it, friendly and warm crowds of the festival season. Of course I got amongst them for a dance. I’m so happy to be back this summer to turn up the party another notch in the big tent. Lots of love, Antony x”
Truck Festival boasts a frankly ridiculous line-up of every artist and every band you simply have to see right now – a capsule of everything shaking things up for a fresh new generation. Coming together in one place over one weekend, it makes Truck truly vital each and every year for a generation of music fans. Truck Festival shows once again why it’s THE only place to capture the sound of right now across one enthralling weekend.
With today’s names just a snapshot of the wider Truck 2024 picture, it marks a welcome return for one of the most beloved UK festivals around. With a leading reputation as the go-to destination for the best in new alternative music, Truck’s larger than life village vibe rings true.
