Already primed as an indisputable summer highlight and the true rite of passage weekender bursting with character and memories waiting to be made at every turn, Truck Festival 2024 has announced even more names joining the party this July – spanning across indisputable indie favourite, pop superstars, late-night rave celebrations and side-splitting comedy. All coming together at Your Favourite Artists’ Favourite Festival, Truck Festival is your ultimate summer escape where everything boring is thrown to the side.
Today’s lineup additions and latest news reflects that. With maybe THE song of the moment soundtracking around the globe, Sophie Ellis-Bextor brings the disco-pop party to Truck 2024 with not only ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’ but a feel-good set perfect for the fun of a Truck weekend. Boasting a timeless catalogue of modern pop hits, Sophie Ellis-Bextor has become a true festival great – with the likes of ‘Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)’’, ‘Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer)’ and ‘Take Me Home’ all finding a place in the nation’s collective party classics playlist. After bringing her Kitchen Disco to the world and now defining the year so far following the star-turn of ‘Saltburn’ – expect a bonafide iconic moment when Sophie Ellis-Bextor comes to Truck 2024.
Looking ahead to Truck Festival 2024, Sophie Ellis-Bextor said:
“Oh wow – I’m incredibly excited to be playing this year’s Truck Festival! To be on a line-up with so many amazing artists is wonderful, and I can’t wait to party with you all under the sunshine.”
Celebrated as true Truck royalty, The Amazons bring their fizzing rock and festival-sized anthems to Truck 2024 – roaring with a newfound vigour as they step into a bold new chapter for the Reading rockers. Cuts like ‘Junk Food Forever’, ‘Bloodrush’, ‘Black Magic’, ‘Mother’, ‘Ready For Something’ and ‘Stay With Me’ are ready-made for massive singalongs and you can guarantee when The Amazons role into town – they’ll be leaving their stamp on the weekend like very few other bands can. Those essential live moments are replicated across the weekend, with Truck serving as the perfect snapshot of the most exciting sounds across modern indie, alternative and pop culture. Turning heads with mesmeric tunes and a powerful-punch of a live show, Heartworms heads to Truck 2024 ready and bound to be an essential watch over the weekend, whilst The K’s continue their electric march to the very top at this year’s festival – boasting unstoppable indie anthems at every turn for what’s sure to be a raucous landmark moment for the band. Birmingham’s fizzing Overpass return to Truck after a year that has seen them emerge as the next potent breakthrough name in modern indie as well as rave-punk phenomenon VLURE bring their mind-blowing live spectacle alongside the unbridled joy that comes from Personal Trainer and their amazing live tidal wave that’s ready to sweep up all who stand in their way at Truck. Whether it’s the pure feel-good indie-pop joys of Chess Club Records’ own SOFY, the knowing punk roar of The Clockworks, the swooning bounce of the hotly tipped Balancing Act or the undeniable figure of Chilli Jesson – Truck 2024 continues to prove itself nothing short of unrivalled.
Heavyweight festival titans The Amazons said:
“We’re thrilled to be returning to Truck this summer. It’s a festival that holds a special place in our hearts as the first main stage we ever played. It’s time for another milestone this year, in front of one of the best crowds in the UK.”
On their return to Truck, Overpass said:
“We can’t wait to play Truck this year. Having played the This Feeling stage, then the Market Stage, it’s especially exciting to be on the Main Stage of one of our favourite festivals.”
VLURE, looking ahead to returning to Truck, said:
“Truck was the first ever festival we all played as a group a few years ago, so it feels fitting to come back now we’re fully formed and in our stride. The intent stays the same as it did from day one, we’re coming to cause a scene and incite a party. Also, The Streets.”
Ready for a huge summer, SOFY said:
“We are beyond gassed to be returning to Truck this summer – our set in 2022 on The Nest was a really pivotal career moment for me, it was the first time we packed out a festival tent and realised that the project was maybe bigger than me and my mates and my mum. We can’t wait to come back bigger and better with some new music to match – see u in the pit (and then at Wet Leg)”
Speaking about playing Truck Festival this year, Balancing Act’s Jackson Couzens said:
“We’re so excited to be playing Truck Festival this year! It’s been amazing to see how Truck has grown into an absolute staple of the festival circuit in recent years. Where else does a rock band get to share the stage with the one and only Mr Motivator? Nowhere. We’ll see you down the front.”
From the moment the festival opens its doors on Thursday to the moment Monday morning comes around, entertainment and community fun is front and centre. Alongside the gleaming fun pop revelry of institutions such as Barrioke, Mr Motivator and the seismic Oxford Symphony Orchestra – Truck thrives in laugh out loud moments, with 2024’s Comedy Programme no different. Making their names across TV screens and online sensations alike, across the weekend Truck fans will be treated to names such as Simon Brodkin, Angelos Epithemiou, Emanuel Sonubi, Andrew Maxwell, Olivia Lee, Phil Ellis, Jarred Christmas, Andy Askins and more – bringing smiles away from the main stages for that ultimate festival experience. Continuing their unbelievable late-night takeovers at the festival is Oxford’s leading club party-starters Switch – this year welcoming the likes of Sub Focus, Goddard and Born On Road alongside many more turning Hill Farm up to bouncing levels as late-night calls. With many more names announced, it comes together to ensure Truck Festival is the full package festival experience you’ve always wanted for a weekend that delivers and more!
Speaking about the latest lineup additions, Festival Director Matt Harrap said:
“That’s right, we’ve got more! With less than 150 days to go till we open the doors to Truck 2024, we’re delighted to welcome some more amazing names to the lineup across the weekend – from long-time Truck favourites, to some of our favourite new bands causing waves across the UK and some bonafide summer legends. We’re already planning the moment we get the glam out to ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’ thanks to Sophie Ellis-Bextor joining the party (we won’t be replicating Barry Keoghan’s dancing thank you very much) and to have names such as The Amazons, Heartworms, The K’s, Overpass and SOFY joining the bill only makes Truck 2024 even bigger. Amazing headline names, history-making moments and the silly laugh-out-loud fun that makes Truck the community it is – we can’t wait to be at Hill Farm now. We’ll see you there!”
These new names join a stacked lineup where ultimate festival fun is put first and everything boring is placed firmly at the back. A rite of passage for young indie/alternative fans – Truck Festival isn’t just the festival you want to be at, it’s the festival you have to be at. With iconic headline moments coming courtesy of Jamie T, Wet Leg (in their first ever UK Festival Headline performance), The Streets and IDLES – 2024’s lineup is a who’s who of essential modern greats. An entire generation’s music playlist spread across multiple stages, the likes of The Kooks, Declan McKenna, Holly Humberstone, Yard Act, Sea Girls, Black Honey, The Snuts, Soft Play, Peace, The Mysterines, Sundara Karma, English Teacher, The Magic Gang, Bob Vylan, Willie J Healey, Fat Dog, Lime Garden, Katy B, Newdad, Nieve Ella, Antony Szmierek, The Royston Club, Been Stellar, Divorce, 86TVs, Folly Group, The Wytches, Coach Party, Katie Gregson-Macleod, Mary In The Junkyard, Lexie Carroll, Nightbus, Cucamaras and more are set for one incredible weekend.
