Summer’s here… in the head of bedroom groove-pop factory, Ed Fisher – a.k.a Urbanparcs – back with his new full-of-funk, sun cream-smelling new single Kool Aid. Following on from the heat-haze alt-pop of last year’s winter-warmer, Hayfever and emergence into the bright lights of a run of headline shows, the 18-year-old laptop pop pioneer returns yet another shade brighter with his new release – OUT NOW via Tri-Tone Music.
Kool Aid finds Fisher laying his velvet vocal tones over bedroom-carved grooves, cutting a shape reminiscent of fellow, low-lit, bedsit disco kings, Alfie Templeman and Bad Sounds. Shades-on-and-drive melodies and a sundowner chorus radiate carefree energy in an assured, feel-good bop with a sugar-sweet aftertaste.
Sandwiched between cities in the hinterlands of the North West of England, Urbanparcs is a product of youthful endeavour, striking out to create fresh noise in earshot of the classic albums that fill bedrooms in lonely towns. Urbanparcs is the past informing the present to shape the future. Fisher’s intensely creative inner-sanctum reflects the laboratorial approach to the hands-high pop-making of Tame Impala, tipping an occasional cap brim to Prince and Bowie, casually mining into a whole world of music at the digitised, home-studio coalface.
The self-actualising protégé, Fisher, now leading the way in vibrant live performance as well as producing a steady rate of gently-fizzing studio tracks, made giant baby steps towards recognition in early 2021, releasing the electro-Arctic Monkeys groove of Fire and the 80’s-inspired confessional, Show Me Love. If youth is a field of scattered pieces, Fisher has quickly found every fragment and pieced them together with a gift for sun-dappled melodies and electronics routed to dancing feet via fragile hearts.
The currently Liverpool-based multi-instrumentalist (taking on the theoretical at Liverpool Institute Of Performing Arts), celebrating the release of Kool Aid and the next square of the dancefloor lighting the way to warmer and longer days, Fisher steps out for his next show on Sat 26th February 2022 to support Jason Allan at Liverpool, Arts Club.

Born in Manchester, lived in Australia for 22 years where i was heavily involved in the Australian Music Industry, firstly in bands (Singer) and then managing bands (all original), I moved back to the UK, Wales specifically 10 years ago and married my childhood sweetheart and life is good.
