WARGASM TO SUPPORT BABY METAL ON THE EUROPEAN LEG
dynamic London-based duo WARGASM release their long awaited debut album Venom via slowplay/Republic Records.
On the release of Venom the band said: “We’ve been hassled and probed and interrogated since our inception 3 years ago to release our debut album. We chose to take our time and it’s finally here, heavier and hornier than ever before. This is Venom. This is a sordid collusion of euphoria and violence. This is us. We hope it makes you feel something. There’s a pulse in all of our veins, we’re not the same as them x”
In addition to previously released tracks “Modern Love,” Bang Ya Head” ft. Fred Durst, and “Do It So Good,” the album features twelve future rock staples including “Death Rattle,” and title track “Venom.”
In addition to the album, fans can pre-order limited vinyl variants and exclusive merch HERE .
The band have been busy supporting the album as they recently announced numerous album signing events, where they will be playing Guitar Hero with fans- see full list below!
October 27th – London, Black Heart – Venom Album Pop Up Event
October 30th – Bristol, Rough Trade – Guitar Hero + album signing
November 1st – Nottingham, Rough Trade – Guitar Hero + album signing
Yesterday saw the duo perform at Spotify’s misfits 2.0 Anti-Prom. All proceeds will be donated to Youth Music, a charity committed to offering music-making opportunities to young people across the UK. Wargasm shared the stage with Jazmin Bean, Cody Frost, ALT BLK ERA, Deijuvhs, and Tokky Horror for the event.
The Venom album follows the band’s recent release of “Modern Love” which featured a cinematic music video and shows off Milkie’s vocals as she self described it as her “Britney moment with a Nine Inch Nails backbone.
It also lands in the wake of their recent anthem “Bang Ya Head” [feat. Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit]. As a true standout, “Bang Ya Head” distills WARGASM’s controlled chaos into a focused and frenetic burst of energy. The track itself bounces between glitchy rave-ready electronics, gnashing teeth-gritting guitars, and quotable rhymes only to culminate on a lyrical volley between Milkie Way and Fred. He urges, “Keep banging your head until you’re breaking your neck.” Milkie counters with a nod to Bizkit’s classic “My Generation” with the warning, “You’re in the jungle punk!” After the band opened for Limp Bizkit last year on their 2022 tour, they teamed up on the soon-to-be-iconic track.
It followed the single “Do It So Good.” The latter has already piled up half-a-million total streams and counting in addition to earning critical acclaim. Beyond plugs from the likes of UPSET and more, Revolver summed it up succinctly as “fiery.” Right out of the gate, Louder named it one of “the best alt. rock songs you’ll hear this week,” and proclaimed, “Rowdy and ferocious, ‘Do It So Good’ sees the fast-rising alt rock duo bring the rave to the mosh pit as they fuse together The Prodigy’s anarchic sound with a lethal metal edge.” The music video for the track equally matched the intensity as it sees Milkie Way and Sam Matlock performing live and in a distorted glitch screen video tunnel.
After touring with Enter Shikari and Limp Bizkit at the end of last year (and into top of this year), Wargasm just supported Corey Taylor on his Us tour. They also performed at this year’s Louder Than Life Festival and Aftershock Festival. All this done in time to head back to the UK where they will be performing at their largest headline shows to date including Shepherds Bush Empire on December 16th and will then join BabyMetal on their European tour. Fans can check out the full list of dates below and at https://www.wargasm.online/tour-dates.
Last year, they unleashed EXPLICIT: THE MIXXXTAPE. It piled up 10 million-plus streams, earned raves from the likes of PAPER Magazine, Loudwire (who hailed it as one of their “Best New Debut Rock + Metal Albums of 2022) and Revolver Magazine who said “Wargasm don’t just have the nu-metal sound, they have the swagger.” Not to mention they have previously been featured on the covers of Alternative Press and KERRANG! Plus, they took home the first-ever “New Noise Award” at the 2022 KERRANG! Awards.
