So we decided it was time to have a little chat with main man and the brains behind The Skinner Brothers ZAC SKINNER to see where they came from, what they have been up to and what their plans for the future are.

What is the story behind your name?

Skinner is my surname, and the band started out with my brother on bass guitar.

What first got you into music? or Who inspired you to make music?

I first remember hearing KISS – and i decided that making music for a living was so much better than working in a dead end job.

I loved the larger than life thing about it!

How did you all meet?

The original members of the band met up from adverts placed on the wall on Denmark St. The current members i knew from other bands on the scene and we came together like that.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

I’d say its in the bracket of UK rock – Indie.

What is your creative process like?

I do 7 till 7 each day and just force myself to make songs. Some will say that’s not a healthy way to do it – but fuck it I’m ill – HAHA.

If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?

I want to open for RATS at The Cavern – someone sort it!

What is one message you would give to your fans?

Do it your way!

What is the most useless talent you have?

I’ll drive a joke into the ground till its not funny for anyone anymore – haha!

Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

Sing songs about my cat – just make them up.

What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?

I’d probably be making money doing a job somewhere, god knows what though – but i’d defo be making more money than i am now.

Where have you performed? What are your favourite and least favourite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?

Done a couple of UK tours before – so played up and down the country. I don’t have a favourite venue – i just know i like it when there are people there. We’ve got some festivals lined up – but they’re gradually cancelling. Few dates with The Streets and the our headline at the 100 club!

What is your favourite song to perform?

Away Days

Which famous musicians do you admire?

Lemmy – Paul Stanley – Ian Drury – Slipknot –

What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?

Can’t remember because i always black out -haha!

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Try be honest with yourself, don’t try and be someone else. Quite hard to follow sometimes but i feel I’m getting there.

What’s next for you?

Got the new Ep coming out early August! Hope everyone digs it!
