It’s that time again, when our man on the ground Desh Kapur Editor/Photographer All Music Magazine UK spotlights a bands or artists he thinks are going to have a big 2025 bands and artists we think you should check out to stay ahead of the curve
So welcome to BABY SAID
Hailing from the Portsmouth area, Baby Said are made up of Italian/Punjabi sisters Veronica (20) and Jess (18) Pal whose musical journey began at a very young age. Already they’ve had support from BBC Radio 1 and were on the Amazing Radio A-List.
Their journey as Baby Said was ignited after a summer of busking in 2021. Their talents were quickly recognised, and they were invited to play in local venues, leading to the birth of their covers band, AstroModa. In just two years, they have performed at over 250 gigs all over the country, building their confidence and skills to pursue their goal of writing, recording, and releasing their own original music. In March 2023, Baby Said partnered with Big Hug Management, a significant step in their musical career. With this new collaboration, the sisters chose the name “Baby Said,” inspired by the song ‘Baby Said’ by their favourite band, Måneskin.
Fresh off supporting U.S. rockers Dirty Honey on UK tour they were selected for The Great Escape Festival, Reading & Leeds, Live At Leeds, Victorious, Rebellion, Twisterella, and Loud Women. The band’s festival performances promise to further cement their place as one of the UK’s most exciting new rock acts. Recent dates inc Rough Trade Records and The House Of Commons
All Music Magazine UK caught up with the band
Veronica, I got into music at the age of 6 when i listened to an Amy Macdonald record as well as a church band.
Jess, I got into music when i watched Måneskin perform at a festival in Italy called San Remo (Eurovision selection).
After the both of us watched Måneskin at these festivals, we were in awe and totally inspired to start writing music and sharing our own messages with the world.
Veronica, picked up a guitar at 6 and passed all my grades on acoustic before switching to electric. Jes, 8 tried guitar and piano before eventually picking up the bass after watching Victoria of Måneskin at San Remo. We then formed our covers band at 16 and 15, which we have now played over 300 gigs around the south coast
Our music is mostly pop/rock with inflections of punk and grunge. It’s energetic and empowering!
Most of the time, Jess writes lyrics first, then melody which I the. Add instrumentation,
Sometimes it’s a really calm riff that either of us come up with which sets the mood for lyrics and melody.

“See the small opportunities as the stepping stones to your success”
We all have a voice, so don’t be afraid to use it!
Jess can make her hands sweat on command.
YES!! We sing whatever comes up on our playlists; the genres vary A LOT 🤩
Veronica l, I would still be getting a degree to be a music teacher as well as teaching guitar students.
Jess, I would be studying to be a psychologist.
We’ve performed here, there and everywhere. Including Reading and Leeds and our hometown Victorious festival. Our favourite venue so far was “De Roma” in Belgium, we honestly can’t think of a venue we haven’t loved performing at. Upcoming shows we can’t wait to play include, our first trip to America, playing at SXSW, James and The Cold Gun UK tour In April , and a huge festival in June we can’t tell you about yet!
Both of ours are Take Everything because of the emotional guitars and Dead To Me because we love to rock out (we can’t pick one)
Brian May and everyone in Måneskin
Veronica put her Face ID on our mums phone which changed all of her passwords on bank apps and others, she’s was not best pleased 😂
“Stand still, trust your gut, and never compromise your music for other people’s opinions’
Lots if gigs and festivals in 2025 and recording the difficult second album!
