Today, Norwegian alt-pop superstar AURORA releases a live version of her haunting anthem ‘The Seed’, featuring organ sensation Anna Lapwood. The track was recorded during her sold-out Royal Albert Hall show in London last month, as part of her world tour What Happened To The Earth?. Together, they transformed the treasured-fan favourite, filling the iconic venue with the organ’s resonant depth, bewitching the audience and creating an unforgettable ethereal experience.

‘The Seed’ comes from AURORA’s highly acclaimed 2019’s album, A Different Kind of Human – Step 2, and reflects her inner fire for saving the planet, telling the story of humanity’s lost connection with Nature. This release comes in response to the incredible reaction to her performance with Anna Lapwood at the Royal Albert Hall, and countless fan requests to hear the song again. AURORA reflects: “To have Anna bring her light and her mountain of sound into my world was absolute bliss. I felt like I was soaring. And I could feel that the audience was as well. Something truly magical happened. And I will never forget it!”.

Anna Lapwood MBE explains “Collaborations at the Royal Albert Hall are always special, but occasionally you are sitting there playing with these amazing artists and it just feels like the music takes everyone in the room to a new dimension. Playing ‘The Seed’ at the Aurora show with the full force of the Royal Albert Hall organ felt like one of those moments – Aurora is such a phenomenal artist with such an energetic audience, so it felt like everyone was feeding off each others’ energy in the most glorious way. I’ve rarely had a post-show high that lasts a whole week…!!”.

Anna Lapwood holds the position of Director of Music at Pembroke College (Cambridge). She has become a celebrated force in classical music, earning both the Associateship of the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Gamechanger Award in 2023. Known for performing with leading symphony orchestras and collaborating with artists like Alison Balsom, Bonobo, and Benedict Cumberbatch, she made history as the first female musician to top the Classical Artist Album Chart with her stunning debut album Luna. Anna recently travelled to Berlin to accept ‘Solo Recording Instrument of the Year’ for Luna at The Opus Klassiks – Germany’s equivalent of Classic Brit Awards. This month, Anna returns as conductor of the Pembroke College Girls’ Choir for a beautiful 6-track EP The Waiting Sky – out November 8th

This comes on top of Anna’s recent impromptu organ lesson with Tom Cruise at the Top Gun: Maverick film screening at The Royal Albert Hall, where she resides for midnight rehearsals. Recent concerts include sold out performances with the London Symphony Orchestra, conductor Sir Antonio Pappano & pianist Yuja Wang, as well as guest appearances with both AURORA and Florence and The Machine.

In the past weeks AURORA released her second book, What Happened To The Heart? —named after her critically acclaimed and UK Top 10 fourth studio album of the same name. It follows the success of her bestselling debut book The Gods We Can Touch, which sold over 14,000 copies and required additional print runs due to high demand. AURORA also joined Jacob Collier on an Arctic ‘iceberg’ in call for ocean and climate protection, in collaboration with Greenpeace

With over a million album sales, 2.6 billion streams, two bestsellings books and her hit single ‘Cure For Me’ featured in Fortnite, AURORA is pulling in a bigger audience than ever before. Following a busy festival season, including a standout set on Glastonbury’s Park Stage, AURORA has concluded her sold out UK & European tour and is now on the start of the LATAM leg of her shows. Due to high demand, AURORA added six extra European arena shows, culminating in her biggest UK performance to date at OVO Arena Wembley on May 3rd, 2025. Tickets here.
