Saturday night, April 17, 2021, All Music Magazine ventured out to catch a set from Black Sheep at The Drunken Parrot Saloon in Saint Cloud, Florida. Black Sheep had been on our list to cover since before the pandemic. We were lucky as it was singer Julie Juengst’s birthday and a festive occasion.
I was intrigued as I saw on social media that they had added the cover from Dirty Honey, “When I’m Gone”. As much as I have been out covering the area cover bands for All Music Magazine in the past year, I had not heard a “Dirty Honey” cover. This had great interest as I have covered Dirty Honey twice in 2020.
Black Sheep did a good job with Dirty Honey, but I got a special surprise that evening. Reading over the set list, I saw “Death by Rock and Roll” by The Pretty Reckless. This song was released February 12, 2021 and went to Billboard’s Top 5. Their rendition was spot on and I couldn’t help but sing along behind the camera.
Black Sheep is a great band to get out and see on your rock and roll scheduled evenings out. I want to go…, “on my tombstone when I go Just put Death by Rock and Roll”
