DEVON ALLMAN SHARES “YOU”

THE SECOND SINGLE OFF THE FORTHCOMING ALBUM

PLUS OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO PREMIERE AUGUST 8th

MIAMI MOON – DUE OUT ON AUGUST 16

Devon Allman released his newest single, “You” from his upcoming record Miami Moon. This fabulous song is a tune that you’ll want to keep on repeat. It has everything that fans could want. From pitch-perfect vocals from Allman to excellent musicianship, this single is the perfect song to be released just days before the album.

“You” starts with a simple rhythm from Allman when the rest of the band jumps in and keeps the simplicity throughout. This tune’s vibe differs from the lead single, “White Horse.” While “White Horse” was faster and a great introduction song, “You” is the perfect balancing act. Its calming beat brings a warm feeling to listeners. This single has such power that it could have even been the lead single off the record. It’s such a gem on the record that it only made sense for fans to wait to hear its brilliance.

The band on this song is completely together. Between choruses, there’s a jam session that features extraordinary guitar playing which is some of Allman’s best. The entire band gets what’s needed on this tune. No one shines too bright and steals any spotlight, they’re all one machine, with each part complementing the other.

Even the music video perfectly complements the music. The cool shade of blue and purple – while a cold color – brings warmth and laid-back vibes to enhance the song. Featuring what appears to be taking place during a photoshoot, Allman, through classic rock and roll sunglasses, can be seen taking center stage. What fans can’t see through listening to the music, they’ll be able to witness in the video. Throughout the video, the entire band has big smiles on their face. It’s great to see a band having so much fun, it shows how much they love their craft and playing music.

I am in love with the sound of this song and the entire record. Allman made such a risky move, switching from the classic Allman Brothers sound to a Miami-Spanish sound. If your mind wasn’t made up after listening to “White Horse,” then by the end of “You,” you’ll be completely won over. This song is a must-listen for fans of Devon Allman.

PRE-ORDER MIAMI MOON

Devon Allman, is thrilled to share “You,” the latest sampling from his forthcoming album Miami Moon.

“‘You’ was written on the spot in the studio as we made the “Miami Moon” record.  A love letter to my wife…It simply didn’t exist prior to going in to make the record.  We had so much fun turning the photo shoot into a BTS music video.  Shot on location at the Angad Arts hotel in St.Louis…a perfect, hip location for the smooth vibe of the song.”

“You” follows the release of the album’s lead single, “White Horse” with the accompanying official music video.

Miami Moon, Allman’s first solo LP in 8 years is out everywhere August 16 via his own, Create Records.

For the album, Allman put together one of the finest studio bands in recent history featuring George Porter JR. (The Meters) on bass, Ivan Neville (Keith Richards, Dumpstaphunk,) on keyboards, Adam Deitch (Lettuce,) on drums, Karl Denson (The Rolling Stones) on saxophone and Jackson Stokes on guitar.

Miami Moon was recorded on 2” analog tape at the historic Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida (the studio where Layla & Eat a Peach were born) and was produced by Grammy winning producer Tom Hambridge (Buddy Guy, Chris “Kingfish” Ingram.)

With Miami Moon, Allman has created what Tom Hambridge calls a masterpiece.

“Making the Miami Moon record with these legendary musicians has been a high point of my career. They brought these songs to life with their masterful playing and timeless feels. As for the approach, a couple things were different this time: First, writing the songs on bass guitar was a first for me and allowed the grooves to be the main focus. Also, letting go of some previous, limiting thought processes allowed some of my other influences to enter the chat for the first time such as Curtis Mayfield, Sade, The Cure, Steely Dan…among others. I believe you can hear some flourishes of those true loves on this album. Additionally, recording in the same hallowed halls where Dad made the Eat a Peach record and where Uncle Duane and Eric Clapton recorded the Layla record, made for a very special setting for us all to work in. We kept it fun and we kept it funky…..we ordered Cuban food, watched the NBA and jammed in a circle for days. In a world where you can make records in the basement or your bedroom, I’m so grateful to have done this record in a classic manner.”

– Devon Allman

The album sounds like the past and the future colliding under neon pink Miami skies…funky, fresh, and soulful. Allman will be touring worldwide all year in support of the new album with his high energy 6 piece band, the Devon Allman Project.
