‘FREEFALL’OUT NOW VIA SECRETLY CANADIAN

ANNOUNCES NEW LONDON HEADLINE SHOWGOOD KARMA CLUB @ COLOURS – 17 OCTOBER

Following a busy summer of festival appearances – including a surprise performance on the Other Stage at her first ever Glastonbury Festival – rising London star Eaves Wilder has today shared a new single ‘Freefall’, available now via Secretly Canadian.

‘Freefall’ finds her exploring shoegaze-inspired chords, pairing them with playful beats and a lag intended to recreate the tipsy walk home on a hot, sticky summer night. Written as a follow up to 2022’s ‘I Stole Your Jumper’, in which she fantasises about female revenge, the new track displays Wilder in a fresh headspace, as she explains:

“Freefall is about pure hedonism, about wanting to feel everything and do everything at once. I wrote it the moment I realised I was ready to move on and allow myself to let go again.”

Alongside ‘Freefall’, Wilder has also announced a new London headline performance today. She will play Abbie McCarthy’s Good Karma Club at Colours Hoxton on Tuesday 17th October, tickets are available from 10am on Thursday 28th September – see below for full upcoming live dates.

About Eaves Wilder:

Recording, producing and releasing her own music since the age of 16, Eaves Wilder is fast becoming one of the UK’s most exciting new prospects. Her debut EP Hookey captured the turbulent experience of her teenage years, and the brightness of her future, while a sold out three week residency at The Social, and a packed summer of festival appearances at the likes of Glastonbury Festival, Green Man and Boardmasters aids in building a dedicated following enamoured by her effortless charm.

Signing to Secretly Canadian in 2021 – something she waited until she was 18 to do because she thought it would be “uncool” to have her mum sign her record deal for her – Eaves has now swapped her bedroom for the studio. The release of her debut EP, Hookey in 2022 won widespread praise from UK tastemakers, including NME, The Sunday Times, Clash, DIY, Dork and The Line of Best Fit, in addition to extensive radio play via BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6Music.
