East London singer/rapper Inder Paul Sandhu releases a new single ‘Monster’ through Strap Originals on Friday 19th August. ‘Monster’ is taken from the ‘Sincerely Me’ EP released October 14th 2022, which can be purchased or streamed here: https://lnk.fu.ga/inderpaulsandhu_sincerelymeep

‘Monster’ was recorded at The Albion Rooms in Margate and written by Inder Paul Sandhu and producer Jason Stafford.

Says Inder Paul Sandhu – “Monsters, we all have them. They either overcome us or we overcome them. Either way if youre real enough with yourself, youll know about them, and if your head’s in the sand, other people or situations in life will bring them out of you.  Then theres the people who will either run away from you, laugh at you or get closer.”

The video for ‘Monster’ was directed by Roger Sargent (Fat White Family/Baxter Dury/The Libertines)

Inder Paul has released four singles, all of which have been playlisted by the BBC Asian Network and BBC London. From his breakthrough international award-winning rap single “Money Ain’t A Thing” to his soulful project “Bloom,” from which DJ Shared picked up the single “Compromise” for the Pharrell Williams and Adidas Holi mixtape by DJ Sharad, ’Go Blind’ and ‘Letter To Self’ from ‘The Colindale Tape EP’.

Inder Paul again: “My mother has a beautiful singing voice and my father is also a creative, though his pursuits and exploits were in the land of film and photography. I grew up in a musically diverse house, from classical Indian music to rock and roll to rap, reggae and pop. In my teens, I ended up hanging out with the wrong crowd and was saved by the church who encouraged me to write and sing. Watching Def poetry Jam later in my teens had a profound effect on me. It got me writing poetry and I began getting ‘props’ from others, though I had no idea I would ever have the balls to walk this road I’m on now.

My first project came out in 2017. It was called #ipaulEP and was produced by grime legend ‘Monkster’ from ‘Newham Generals’. He was another person that saw something in me and pushed me. It was five tracks of oldschool hip hop and grime, with one acoustic guitar song which was my first stab at singing.  I attribute my songwriting and vocalising to Jehovah, without God I truly am nothing.”

Inder Paul Sandhu has toured with Omar Lyfehook and Peter Doherty and will be announcing live shows to coincide with the release of the ‘Sincerely Me” EP shortly.

“It was just a bad day and not a bad life, the irresistible Letter To Self’  Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music

His songs are emotionally intelligent and ear-wormy” Bobby Friction (BBC Asian Network)

This is the first time we have had two songs from the same artist receiving track of the month” Sunny and Shay (BBC Radio London/BBC WM)
