THE LAST DINNER PARTY

ANNOUNCE PRELUDE TO ECSTASY: ACOUSTICS AND COVER

LISTEN TO ‘THIS TOWN AIN’T BIG ENOUGH FOR BOTH OF US (SPARKS COVER)’HERE

The Last Dinner Party are pleased to announce the 11th October arrival of Prelude To Ecstasy: Acoustics and Covers – a deluxe edition of their Mercury Prize-shortlisted debut which includes reimagined versions of the band’s own songs alongside unique covers of their favourite tracks from other artists. The Last Dinner Party’s cover of Sparks’ 1974 single ‘This Town Ain’t Big Enough For Both Of Us’ arrives alongside a tour montage video; made with footage shot over the band’s recent trips to Japan, The United States and their recent performance at Reading Festival. A short Prelude To Ecstasy film will be screened at a Soho Cinema and live-streamed to The Last Dinner Party’s YouTube channel on 12th September. Fans will have the opportunity to win tickets to the Leicester Square screening via the band’s mailing list.

To sum up the impact The Last Dinner Party have had, or simply to try and summarise the highlights of their last twelve months would inevitably be doing the band an injustice. With sell out tours across the globe, chart-bothering singles, a fastest-selling number one album by a debuting band for years, a Rising Star BRIT Award, BBC Sound of 2024 winners, reams of acclaim and now an inclusion on the Mercury Prize – Albums of the Year shortlist: you’d be hard pushed to liken it to any new artist introducing themselves within the last decade, perhaps further beyond. The wildest of rides.

Having commenced the summer with a spree of stellar festival appearances including Radio 1 Big Weekend, Primavera Sound, TRNSMT and a scene-stealing return to Glastonbury, The Last Dinner Party have now wrapped their debut run of shows in bassist Georgia’s home country of Australia and an appearance at Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival, before the band complete a collection of sold out dates on both sides of the Atlantic: culminating in 3 nights at London’s Eventim Apollo.

Britain’s “most likely to” have emphatically become Britain’s most in-demand, and Britain’s most exciting.

CIAN DUCROT

SHARES NEW SINGLE ‘CAN’T EVEN HATE YOU’

This summer has seen Cian Ducrot follow his UK and Ireland #1 album ‘Victory’ by embarking upon a tour consisting of huge outdoor shows including unforgettable nights in Cork and Dublin. The latter saw Hot Press summarise his appeal in the live arena as they stated, “It can be difficult for artists to avoid looking as if they’re on a pedestal, up there on stage, and yet this is exactly what Cian Ducrot manages to do, emphasising his own vulnerability and humanity.” Now he shares his brand new single ‘Can’t Even Hate You’.

That vulnerability and humanity is something that gives Cian’s songs a relatable surge of emotion, and that’s something that dominates ‘Can’t Even Hate You’. A singer-songwriter with a gift for identifying the pains, joys and complications of love, Cian takes us into the heart of another romantic quandary: this time, wanting to hate someone after a break-up to alleviate your own pain, but having to accept that you just can’t do it. That raw emotion is wrapped within the kind of song that Cian does best, with heart-string pulling emotions flowing from his powerful, soulful voice with a surfeit of engaging songcraft.

‘Can’t Even Hate You’ emerges as Cian continues to work on his highly anticipated second album. Many artists may have capitalised on such a breakthrough (see also: 1.3 billion streams and still amassing another 3.2 million streams each week, two Top 20 hits and the RTÉ Choice Music Prize Irish Song of the Year) by rapidly completing a follow-up, but Cian vowed to take his time – not only to allow the new record to reach its full potential, but also to allow him to live in the present and to enjoy the rapturous receptions that he has received on tour.

ANDY C x BECKY HILL

RELEASE THE LONG-AWAITED COLLABORATION ‘INDESTRUCTIBLE’

Two titans from the dance world, drum ‘n’ bass icon Andy C and two-time BRIT Award winner Becky Hill fire up their combined talents on new collaboration ‘Indestructible’. Both artists have been playing the song out all summer, building on immense fan anticipation which dates back to when Andy C included a very early version of duo’s track in his set almost a decade ago. ‘Indestructible’ more than lives up to the hype. Becky Hill quickly ramps up the excitement as her towering, instantly recognisable vocal sets the mood with lyrics of pure positive motivation. Andy C detonates the beat as ‘Indestructible’ hits maximalist euphoria with thumping heavyweight bass, fluid, full-throttle breaks and distorted synths blazing through the melody.

‘Indestructible’ adds another special moment to a phenomenal year for Becky Hill. Her second album ‘Believe Me Now?’ became her most personal and critically acclaimed body of work to date and achieved her highest album chart debut position at #3, after a campaign which included another Top 10 smash and Platinum-certified ‘Disconnect’ with Chase & Status and a US #1 airplay hit, ‘Never Alone’ with Sonny Fodera.

2024 has already seen Becky tour extensively, with Radio 1’s Big Weekend, a headline set at Parklife, and her debut European headline tour among the many highlights. October will see her play her biggest UK Arena shows to date, including the OVO Arena Wembley, with most of the tour sold-out months in advance. Limited tickets for some shows available here.

STONE

NEW SINGLE ‘SAVE YOURSELF’ FEATURES DOPE LEMON

A NEW VERSION OF THE CLOSING SONG FROM THEIR

ACCLAIMED DEBUT ALBUM FEAR LIFE FOR A LIFETIME

A fireball of relentless energy, brutally honest lyrical themes and a heartfelt fan community – all with the songs to match – STONE’s acclaimed debut album ‘Fear Life For A Lifetime’ made a striking first statement for the rising Liverpool quartet. After the album scored an array of strong Official Chart positions, including Top 10 spots on the Vinyl Sales and Record Store Charts, STONE now share a new version of its closing song ‘Save Yourself’ which has been boosted by as a feature from DOPE LEMON.

‘Save Yourself’ sees STONE stepping away from their anthemic, anarchic core indie/punk sound, instead introducing a raw exposed acoustic slowburner that sees frontman Fin Power cut open his vulnerabilities for the world to see: a reflection on mental health struggles and social media addiction that implores a love interest to escape from the relationship before they’re sucked into the same situation. A unifying moment of their live show, ‘Save Yourself’ is now given a fresh, enticing angle, with DOPE LEMON’s sweet vocal harmonies adding a new flavour to Fin’s distinctive accent while he also brings more of his character to the track with his own instrumental embellishments.

Fin says, “I never would have believed you if you told me I would have gotten one of my favourite musicians to play and sing on one of my records. I guess if I never plucked up the courage to ask then it wouldn’t happen, so it’s another lesson for myself to always go for it as the worst they can say is no.”
