‘Remi Wolf Impressed Me With An Energy That Would Be Hard To Match’

I’m travelling further afield tonight for Remi Wolf at Manchester Academy. I’m not a regular at Manchester venues but the energy is very familiar. This evenings queue stretches far and everyone walking past can tell something worthwhile is happening tonight. It’s buzzing with excitement and everyone is rearing to get inside.

Fans are piling towards the stage already packing out tonight’s venue. It seems the sea of people coming in won’t stop as everyone attempts to get a good view of the stage. As the time for Remi to start her set came closer, the audience grew in energy and the noise of the hustle and bustle could be heard from outside the hall. It was obvious when Remi had entered the stage as fans continued their enthusiasm with overbearing cheers.

Remi kicked off the night with no holding back and grabbed everybody’s attention. The substantial crowd showed their enthusiasm for Remi as she had barely dived into her set. People immediately clapped hands, bounced heads and stamped feet to a contagious set of songs.

Her popular song ‘sexy villain’ went down especially well amongst fans, yelling lyrics with heart and soul. The energy this song brought to tonight’s venue really summed up the dynamic of Remi and her fans. Everyone sang in unison and lost themselves in a lifting tune, fixated on Remi’s’ powerful performance.

Now for something slightly different. Drummer Connor Malloy took centre stage as Remi resided to drums for a well deserved rest from jumping about the stage. While Connor didn’t perform a song as such, he recited positive words from his phone to a catchy beat. The audience shouted back to Connor as they got hyped up for the rest of the show. He certainly brought a change of pace to the night and brought a refreshing break to to a built up audience.

After Remi and her band left the stage, chants for more filled the hall once again. Mighty screams and chants competed with the volume of Remis’ songs and carried on until they re-entered the stage. The atmosphere of this finale topped off the whole night with a fitting end to a flawless performance.

I can’t say that I’m an avid listener however my first hearing of Remi Wolf impressed me with an energy that would be hard to match. She captivated a full hall of people and not once lost anybody’s attention. Everyone left Manchester Academy buzzing from tonight’s performance and I’m sure it will stick in their heads as a memorable one.
