CROCODILES | HEAVEN UP HERE | PORCUPINE | OCEAN RAIN

Now that vinyl has at long last returned in droves, Echo and his Bunnymen have joined in with some remasters of classic albums that strengthen the argument for all albums to be in this form, because quite obviously it was and always will be the most amazing and tactile way to listen to music, although from past experiences, keep your younger brother away from your collection if you want to see it again intact!
Four incredible albums that offer a perfect insight into the bands art and history, blending the old, with alternative versions and live performances, these reissues grab our hand and walk us through the gardens that were Echo and the Bunnymen, beautifully and without apology.
Crocodiles, Heaven Up Here, Porcupine, and Ocean Rain are reimagined in all of their glory, filled with sweeping guitars that dance where orchestral undertones abound and melody appears wantonly where drama is deliberately and perfectly placed, leaving me with an almost indelible feeling that I lived through brilliance, but am only now noticing it. Maybe my ears and senses have matured I don’t know, but all of those missed opportunities to indulge myself in these songs were obviously waiting for the right moment to arrive and that time is very definitely now.
Do yourself a favour and join me in either revisiting these amazing musical journeys or open your senses to a band who deserve their opportunity to shine again, because they were so perfectly British, wearing all that was brilliant in our musical world, with their great song writing and incredible individuality that favoured the brave and gave rise to tracks that you can wrap your arms and your heart around in equal measure.
