Sea Girls to release new single ‘Young Strangers’Co-written with Kid Harpoon Out 17th November
New UK & Ireland 2024 tour announcedLouis Tomlinson support at The O2 on 17th November
Sea Girls will release their new single ‘Young Strangers’ on 17th November, taken from their forthcoming third album which will be released next year on their own label Alt. Records. Alongside this the band have announced a new UK & Ireland tour for March 2024, as well as supporting Louis Tomlinson at The O2 on 17th November.
‘Young Strangers’ shows off the bands’ innate melodic abilities, creating expansive and intelligent indie pop with an effortless feel. It’s authentic and sincere too, tapping into the themes of their new album, of moving from dark into light. Frontman Henry Camamile talks about the track –
“‘Young Strangers’ is about seeing the similarities between two people who have just met. They get talking about their lives, about how they want to prove themselves and find purpose with a desperate need to get out of life’s daily rut. Never met before they realise they’re navigating the same feelings in the world and so are not young strangers anymore.”
The track was written with Kid Harpoon who produced/co-wrote Harry Styles’ Grammy winning ‘Harry’s House’ album, whilst previously working with Miley Cyrus, Haim and Florence & The Machine.
On writing the song with Kid Harpoon in LA, Henry says “It was like writing with an old mate, he had the same enthusiasm and energy as myself.”
‘Young Strangers’ follows recent single ‘Weekends & Workdays’ which was the first track from this now creatively rejuvenated band operating at full throttle. The track has been supported across radio by Jack Saunders, Clara Amfo and John Kennedy. It was made Tune Of The Week at BBC Radio 1 and follows the tremendous support the band have always had at the station. With multiple Hottest Records over the course of the Sea Girls’ career, it highlights the broad appeal of this thoroughly modern band.
With ‘Weekends & Workdays’ and ‘Young Strangers’ Sea Girls are setting up the release of album number three, one which promises to be a true artistic statement. The record will look at the personal and the universal, and aims to make sense of the world and move forward with positivity. Their strongest work to date, this massive joyous record promises to shine a light throughout 2024.
Sea Girls will be on the road in March 2024 for brand-new UK and Ireland dates. ‘The Young Strangers Tour’ will see the band at never-before-played venues including London’s KOKO, a venue Henry references in fan favourite song ‘Transplant’.
To celebrate this special one-off tour they’re making a Special Edition signed vinyl of Album 3 (released 2024) available with photos from these forthcoming tour dates which you can pre-order here.
